Knowing when, how, and what when it comes to planting is the keystone to keeping your plants thriving and happy!
Different plants require different potting schedules. Some can require a repot once a year, while others may be every 5-7 years. Knowing your plant and it's needs will help you determine the potting schedule.
When repotting, it's important to know HOW to check for signs of root rot, pests, and for any other issues. It's also important know HOW to repot while causing the least amount of trauma to the plant's delicate root system.
Repotting usually does require an acclimation period afterwards where the plant may droop, look like it's dying, or even lose leaves/flowers. This is normal and will usually correct itself after a few days.
Some plants are more fussy than others. Feel free to contact us with any questions you have.
Just like with humans, pots are not one-size-fits-all. Different plants prefer different pot styles. Some need more air to roots than others. Some like to be slightly root bound. The most important thing to remember is ALL plants need proper drainage. Decorative pots are pretty, but they do nothing for the health of your plant.
